Accelerated / Direct Access (DAS)
Before starting your course you should study for and pass the DSA’s Motorcycle Theory Test. You also need to have completed a CBT.
If 33 BHP is not enough and you are over 21, you could choose our Direct Access course.
This will allow you to train and take your test on a large capacity bike (minimum 47 BHP). Once you've passed the test you can ride any size bike without waiting the 2-year restriction period.
Below Is an Example of Our Basic DAS Course for People Who Have Already Been Riding A bike On A Regular Basis:
Section 1:Getting used to the bike - You'll start by riding around the quiet back streets, to allow you to familiarise yourself with the controls of the bike. Once you have the basic control skills you will progress to a normal ride. If you're up to it this may include a tour through country lanes, to get you used to cornering and braking.
The focus of day 1 is to make sure you are comfortable on the bike.
Section 2: Honing your road skills - This is where we start to focus on the Module 1 (off-road) test. You'll typically spend the day getting used to the off-road pad, learning the required manoevres and focusing on the exercises you'll have to do for the test. You will also spend time generally getting used to riding on the road at test standard.
Section 3:Preparation and the Tests – Where possible, we will try to arrange for both the Module 1 Test (off-road) and the Module 2 Test (on-road) to be taken on the same day. We'll perform mock tests and give you the chance to brush up on any of your weak spots before the test.
Our Accelerated / Direct Access (DAS) Course Fee also Includes the Following:
- Training, Test Booking And Fee
- 500cc Motorcycle Hire
- Fuel & Radio Equipment
- Max. 2 riders Per Instructor
All our large capacity bikes are comfortable, fairly forgiving and easy to learn on. If you are under 5' 4" we will need to check you can physically manage the bike, as the seat may be too high.
